Pope names Cardinals

Pope Benedict XVI has named a bunch of new Cardinals, with two of them being from the U.S. Those two are Archbishop Sean O'Malley of Boston and Archbishop William Levada, the current CDF. I don't have much to say about this. They're certainly no Burke, Bruskewitz, or Chaput. Time will tell, but as of right now I don't have too much confidence in the Levada, and there were certainly a dozen more qualified people to take over the Pope's former position. As for O'Malley, am I being grossly unfair, or do I have rotten information, or wasn't O'Malley the fellow who allowed the Archdiocese of Boston to grant adoptions to same-sex couples?
